Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will troubleshoot and repair medical equipment used in surgical procedures, and support installation of complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units.

This division focuses on GI/Endoscopy low temperature washers, sterilizers, drying and storage cabinets, closely tied to STERIS' core product lines.

Ideal candidates often have experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc.

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Minnesota.

Responsibilities include:

1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment.
2. Manage time effectively to prioritize customer needs, complete PMs, service calls, installations, and upgrades.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and utilize technology for compliance and troubleshooting.
4. Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options, and identify sales opportunities.
5. Support various locations within the territory based on customer needs.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience; technical certifications or military experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet credentialing requirements.
• Customer service and team engagement experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency.
• Flexible schedule, including potential overnights and early/late hours.
• Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements.

Pay range: $47,750 - $66,937.50, plus commission. Pay is based on experience, certifications, and local market factors.
