Job summary

Housing Trust Group is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a multi‑family property in New York. This working supervisor role combines hands‑on maintenance with staff supervision, ensuring the property's systems operate safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include directing maintenance staff, coordinating vendors, and overseeing preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and life‑safety systems while managing safety and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years industry experience.
• Ability to directly supervise staff.
• Must be proficient in all areas of apartment maintenance including plumbing, electricity, painting, drywall, floor coverings, carpentry, locks, appliances, pools & spas, roofs and life safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Handle maintenance for the community as directed by Property Manager.
• Supervise staff including training, motivation, and performance feedback.
• Monitor and direct scheduling of maintenance personnel and vendors.
• Track inventory for repairs and maintenance.
• Responsible for turnover processes.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, service requests, and report safety hazards.
• Assist with planning and execution of preventative maintenance programs (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety).
• Enforce safety policies and ensure PPE is used by staff.
• Operate within property budgetary guidelines.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
