Job summary

The Hills, part of Discovery Land Company, is seeking Seasonal Line Cooks to join our Culinary Department at East Quogue, NY. The role runs April 1, 2027 – October 30, 2027, with optional H-2B visa sponsorship.

You’ll work across stations, follow recipes, and help deliver the Discovery experience to members and staff. Responsibilities include portion control, stock management, safety compliance, and timely plating.

Qualifications

• Twelve months of experience in high-volume restaurants, resort, or private club.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must stand, walk and move for extended periods.
• Able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of ServSafe and safe food handling practices.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items per standard recipe, maintain portion control and minimize waste.
• Stock kitchen with all necessary ingredients.
• Assist on all stations on the line as needed for each meal period.
• Maintain and clean equipment per opening/closing checklists.
• Report hazards or equipment needing repair promptly.
• Ensure all food is plated and presented accordingly with urgency to guest needs.
• Adhere to health standards and company policies.
• Keep kitchen and storage areas clean and organized.
