Sur La Table in Austin, TX is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment. You will help deliver classes, drive guest satisfaction, and ensure high standards of customer service while working with a fun, hospitality-focused team.

This seasonal, part-time role offers flexible hours (12-16 per week) including nights, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to grow in a culinary retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences.
• Maintain product knowledge through training and self-study.
• Lead a guest-obsessed culture in kitchen and sales floor.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollments and feedback.
• Help hit class revenue goals and sales KPIs.
• Set up and breakdown classes, prep mise en place, clean stations.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance.
• Maintain inventory and control costs.
