Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Kettle Driver in Hammond to support the Red Kettle Campaign from November through December. You will operate an insured Salvation Army vehicle to transport bell ringers and equipment, ensuring safety and timely setup at kettle sites.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Kettle Coordinator, recording times, and maintaining kettles, bells, and apron security. A valid license and at least two years of driving experience are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks: A background check is required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years driving experience; 12-passenger vans preferred.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license and Salvation Army driver qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Drive an insured Salvation Army vehicle to transport bell ringers and equipment during the Red Kettle Campaign.
• Drip off and pick up bell ringers in a pre-determined order and secure kettles.
• Document time, ensure forms related to bell ringing are accurate, and support equipment transport.
• Assist in coordinating with kettle coordinators and ensure data accuracy for workers and sites.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel, and basic maintenance; ensure readiness for the next day.
