Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a Kettle Driver to transport bell ringers and equipment during the Red Kettle Campaign (Nov–Dec). You will operate an insured Salvation Army vehicle, adhere to safety rules, and serve as an ambassador in the community.

This full-time temporary role requires driving experience, a valid license, ability to supervise volunteers, and follow Salvation Army policies. Shifts run Monday through Saturday; travel is daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Background checks will be completed and reviewed.
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience; 12-passenger vans preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard.
• Speak, write and understand English clearly; ability to communicate with leadership.
• Supervisory responsibilities include supervising multiple employees and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Drip off and pick up bell ringers in a pre-determined order using geographic knowledge.
• Assist with placement of kettles at corps locations by October.
• Document time for bellringers and ensure forms are accurate.
• Deliver kettles and equipment to Bellringers and supervise paid workers and volunteers.
• Monitor safety and activity of Bell Ringers during shifts and report concerns to supervisor.
• Ensure kettles, bells and aprons are secured and returned; report broken equipment.
• Organize kettles and supplies for next day; coordinate with Kettle Coordinator for data accuracy.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and monitor fuel and maintenance needs; prep vehicles for next day.
• Secure daily funds and assist in year-end inventory for next season.
