Job summary

The Salvation Army in Chicago is seeking a part-time Transportation/Kettle Assistant to support kettle season operations. The role involves moving kettles, coordinating with staff, and ensuring secure handling of funds and equipment.

You will drive authorized Salvation Army vehicles, follow weekly schedules, and adapt to changing shifts while maintaining a professional, respectful demeanor with staff and donors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver’s license/MVR clearance.

Responsibilities

• Transport kettles and lock them on kettle stands at the start of the kettle day.
• Pick up kettles at the end of the kettle day.
• Safely return kettles within route time to the Salvation Army in Englewood.
• Drive Salvation Army owned vehicles only.
• Coordinate with Program Assistant & Corps Officers on kettle and equipment issues.
• Keep monies secure at all times.
• Follow assigned weekly driving schedules; shifts may change weekly.
• Other duties as assigned.
