Job summary

The Salvation Army Northwest Division is seeking a Christmas Kettle Coordinator for Sandpoint, ID. This on-site, temporary role reports to a Field Representative and handles all kettle program operations for the season.

Responsibilities include supervising kettle workers and drivers, recruiting and hiring, maintaining records for HR/payroll, and coordinating equipment and site readiness. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some post-secondary education preferred.
• Minimum of six months related experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Contact store managers by letter or phone to establish kettle sites and acquire required documentation.
• Check and maintain kettle equipment; ensure kettles, stands, bells, and aprons are clean and in good condition.
• Assist with placing ads for bell ringers in newspapers and other media.
• Provide and distribute applications; begin giving applications out after November 1.
• Interview and hire applicants; ensure all forms are completed; background checks in progress before start.
• Collect daily data on bell ringers; submit documentation to DHQ as requested.
• Ensure stands and signs are delivered to kettle sites the day before kettles begin.
• Conduct orientation for kettle workers and review responsibilities and guidelines.
• Assign workers to sites daily; match top workers to productive areas; address issues.
• Coordinate volunteers and driver schedules; manage routes.
• Process time sheets and payroll data; verify paychecks with Administrative Coordinator.
• Inventory equipment at season end; prepare a season-ending brief.
• Perform other seasonal duties as assigned.
