Job summary

Acme Hospitality is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess for a short-term seasonal role in Santa Barbara. You will greet guests, seat them, manage the waitlist, and assist with reservations to ensure a smooth dining experience.

Experience in fine dining and knowledge of reservation systems is preferred. The role requires excellent communication, a polished appearance, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival and welcome them warmly.
• Escort guests to tables and assist with seating arrangements.
• Manage waitlists and reservations with accuracy.
• Provide accurate wait time estimates and communicate delays.
• Coordinate with waitstaff and kitchen for timely seating.
• Answer calls about reservations and menu items in a friendly manner.
• Assist in taking and confirming reservations with correct details.
• Maintain a clean, organized host stand and materials.
• Monitor dining area to ensure proper setup and ambiance.
• Communicate guest preferences and special requests to staff.
• Help manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity.
• Assist with coordinating events or private dining when needed.
• Maintain restrooms and supplies.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain high level of professionalism and hospitality.
