Job summary

Acme Hospitality in Santa Barbara is seeking a Barback/Busser to support our bartenders, maintain a spotless bar, restock supplies, and help deliver exceptional guest experiences. This non-exempt, seasonal role runs November 1, 2026 through January 20, 2027.

Candidates should have prior experience in fine dining or upscale bars, strong organization and teamwork, flexibility for evenings and weekends, and a commitment to safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Barback and/or Busser role in fine dining or upscale bars.
• Knowledge of bar operations, glassware, and basic drink recipes.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Physical stamina to lift items and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
• RBS or similar certification for responsible alcohol service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders in preparing and organizing the bar for service.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and restock supplies throughout shifts.
• Wash and polish glassware and bar tools; ensure readiness for use.
• Retrieve stock from storage and manage recycling and waste procedures.
• Collaborate with staff to fulfill drink orders accurately and promptly.
• Assist in closing procedures and secure equipment after shifts.
• Provide excellent guest service and respond to guest inquiries.
• Support overall bar operations and maintain a positive work environment.
