Job summary

Stanly County Schools is seeking a Groundskeeper II (Seasonal) in Albemarle, NC to perform lawn care, planting and landscape maintenance from March to October. The role reports to the Executive Director of Facilities & Maintenance and offers $15.00/hour pay.

This seasonal position requires a high school diploma or GED and a NC driver's license; previous groundskeeping experience is preferred. Tasks include operating equipment, maintaining grounds, and following landscape designs as available.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of grounds keeping and elementary horticultural practices.
• Ability to perform planting, cultivating, pruning, spraying, and trimming as directed.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and heavy power equipment.
• Valid NC driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Cuts lawns.
• Trims and edges.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth.
• Removes damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
• Sprays lawns, plants, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides.
• Performs ground maintenance duties with tractors and related equipment.
• Drives dump trucks and transports equipment.
• Makes minor repairs to mowers and tools.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
