Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools Building Services in Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a General Maintenance Worker II: Grounds Crew to independently perform routine semi-skilled work maintaining county school buildings, grounds and equipment. Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Drug screening and tuberculin test required.
• Possession of a valid driver's permit and ability to obtain within six months a commercial driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Performs painting and minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and related repairs and installations.
• Directs assigned personnel.
• Replaces HVAC filters.
• Operates trucks, towing equipment, tractors, mowers, snow equipment, etc.
• Uses standard tools and equipment of the trades.
• Cleans and cares for tools and equipment.
• Performs general maintenance and/or custodial work.
• Assists with layout and lining of athletic fields.
• Performs other tasks as required.
