Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Grain Elevator Operator (Seasonal) in Lakeville, MN to assist with grain handling and facility operations.

You will weigh and grade grain, operate loading/unloading equipment, and help manage inbound/outbound logistics under the facility manager's direction. The role requires strong safety awareness, good communication with customers, and the ability to work extended hours during harvest periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to understand and comply with all safety policies and practices.
• Verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication with grain customers.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain and grain products to meet Smithfield specs.
• Operate loading/unloading equipment to ship/receive grain products.
• Inspect grain facilities daily to ensure equipment condition and safety.
• Help schedule logistics related to inbound and outbound grain.
• Maintain and handle inventories to maximize Smithfield profitability and grain movements.
• Identify problems or improvements and work with facility manager to resolve.
