Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Minnesota is seeking a grain facility worker responsible for assisting in work schedules, safety programs, and logistics alongside the facility manager. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic understanding of safety policies and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain to meet specifications.
  • Operate loading/unloading equipment to ship or receive grain products.
  • Inspect grain facilities daily for equipment condition and safety.
  • Help schedule logistics for inbound and outbound grain.
  • Maintain inventories and manage grain movements to optimize profitability.
  • Identify problems and work with the facility manager on solutions.
  • Interact with customers daily and provide service.
  • Assist in implementing safety programs per company directives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and procedures.
  • Review the emergency notification process with the site team.
