Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a grain handler to weigh, grade, and manage inbound and outbound grain at a US facility.

You will prepare receipts, operate loading equipment, and help coordinate logistics while maintaining inventory and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies. The role requires reliable teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including extended hours during harvest seasons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow all safety policies and practices.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain to meet specifications.
• Prepare scale receipts and enter deliveries into the database.
• Operate loading/unloading equipment for grain shipping or receiving.
• Inspect grain facilities daily for proper equipment condition.
• Assist in scheduling logistics related to inbound/outbound grain.
• Maintain inventories to maximize profitability, including grain movements.
• Identify problems or improvements and coordinate with the facility manager.
• Interact with customers on a daily basis.
• Assist in safety programs and ensure environmental compliance.
