Job summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a Forest & Park Supervisor II for Roxbury Heritage State Park as part of the Seasonal Winter 26/27 program. The role involves supervising maintenance, inspections, and programming to support safe, accessible parks for visitors from November 2026 through March 2027.

Location is Roxbury Heritage State Park, Boston area. Start date is 11/15/26 with an end date of 3/20/27. This is a full-time seasonal position with progression within the DCR system.

Qualifications

At least three years of full-time forestry/parks management experience.
Supervisor experience in park operations preferred.
Excellent communications skills are essential.
Ability to operate a personal computer and basic software.
Experience supervising diverse park/facility operations.

Responsibilities

Supervise maintenance of assigned recreational areas and facilities.
Inspect state-operated forest and park areas for safety and compliance.
Patrol recreational areas to ensure security and rules compliance.
Issue permits for use of facilities and collect related fees.
Maintain records and prepare reports on workloads and outcomes.
Organize recreational and cultural programs for visitors.
