Start date is 11/15/2026 and end date 3/20/2027, totaling a 40-hour work week. The role requires forestry or parks management experience, a supervisory background, and knowledge of safety standards.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in forestry, parks, or recreational management, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Substitutions: an Associate's or higher degree may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
• Special license: valid Massachusetts driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.

Responsabilités

• Supervise maintenance of recreational areas, including grounds and facilities, and manage hazardous trees or limbs; significant snow and ice responsibilities.
• Inspect state-operated areas and facilities for safety and maintenance needs; ensure compliance with standards.
• Patrol areas to maintain safety and enforce rules; issue permits and collect related fees.
• Maintain records and prepare reports to inform budget and program decisions.
• Organize recreational and cultural programs for visitors; coordinate volunteers and partners.
• Determine supply needs; operate equipment; interview and train staff; manage budgets and capital requests.
