Job summary

SMCC seeks a reliable seasonal custodial/maintenance worker to support daily operations at the South Portland campus. You will work up to 40 hours per week, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, on a four-month contract, performing general cleaning, trash removal, and basic maintenance of college buildings and grounds.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, a valid Maine driver's license, and the ability to work as a non-benefited position. Training will be provided to perform minor repairs and event setup.

Qualifications

• General custodial or maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be at least 16 years old (minimum) and at least 18 years old for required qualifications.
• Must possess valid Maine driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning, trash removal, and basic maintenance of college buildings and grounds.
• Assist with setup of small events and seasonal tasks (fall cleanup, snow removal).
• Perform minor repairs under supervision and operate custodial equipment and small power tools.
