ISS STOXX seeks a Research Analyst for the Environmental & Social Research team in Washington, DC to analyze environmental and social shareholder proposals and support proxy voting recommendations during the 2027 season. The role begins in February 2027 and runs through May/June 2027, with interview timelines starting in November 2026.

The analyst will evaluate proposals, assess corporate disclosures, and contribute to research supporting investor decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher, plus relevant work experience preferred in business, corporate social and environmental issues, or other corporate fields.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, a dedicated work ethic, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Work and communicate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Willing to work long hours and weekends during peak weeks (approx. April through May).

Responsabilités

• Analyze environmental and social shareholder proposals and prepare research reports.
• Evaluate company responses and assess board oversight on ESG risks.
• Develop knowledge across sustainability topics (climate, HCM, human rights, political spending, animal welfare, reporting).
• Research disclosures, regulatory filings, investor communications for analysis.
• Engage with company representatives and investors to gather information.
• Respond to inquiries on methodologies, policy interpretations, and vote recommendations.
• Contribute to additional research projects as assigned.
