Job summary

The Seasonal Culinary Assistant role at TWE supports daily kitchen production, including cheese and charcuterie, dishwashing, and delivering products to various site locations, while also assisting Hudson House duties and delivering excellent customer service.

You will collaborate with the Culinary Team and Manager on menu ideas, tastings, and wine pairings; assist with event setup and breakdown; maintain standards for food and service across on-site venues.

Qualifications

About the Role

The Seasonal Culinary Assistant position will assist with daily kitchen production to include supporting the cheese and charcuterie program, dish and glassware washing, delivery of products to various site locations. This position will also assist with Hudson House daily duties to maintain upkeep of all portions of the house. Provides excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with current food offerings to include slicing, assembling of cheese and charcuterie plates, dish station, food prep set up for food programs, delivery of culinary products, on site and off site.
• Works with the Culinary Team and Manager in food needs and inventory.
• Assist Event Manager with setting up and breakdown of events including glassware, moving of tables and chairs, keeping Hudson House clean and restocking.
• Works with the Culinary Team, Manager, and other team members on menu ideas, tasting food programs and food and wine pairing.
• Ensures all food production meets TWE and Culinary Manager standards.
• Support Back of the House and Front of the House duties as needed to include weekends, evenings and Holiday's as needed
• Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen during working hours
• Assist with proper receiving, inspecting, and storing of all food and supply orders
• Collaborate with Culinary Team and Manager on new menu ideas

About you

• You have knowledge of all kitchen areas, including prep, pantry, and culinary methods.
• You have knowledge of wines, wine tastings and food wine pairings.
• Preferred you have a minimum of 1 years' experience with the Californian Food Handler Card and/or Serve-Safe Certified
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• You are proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• You have the ability to work independently
• You are professional and have a positive attitude
• You are able to lift up to 50lbs

Pay

• Base pay: Hourly rate ranges from $22.12 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience, skills role, scope, location and business needs.
• Incentive pay: Eligible to participate in the Direct-to-Consumer Sales Incentive Plan (DSIP), offering variable compensation based on site performance. Incentive pay is not guaranteed.
• Estimated on-target earnings (OTE): $24.33-$27.50 per hour, based on base pay plus target DSIP at target performance (where applicable). Actual earnings vary based on site performance, hours worked, and role classification.
• Tips: This role is eligible for tips. Tips are paid by the customer and vary by location, shift and customer volume. Tips are not guaranteed. Based on historical experience in some locations/shifts, tips have at times added approximately 11% to 12% above base pay for some employees.
