North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a Temporary Retail Operations Supervisor to lead campus bookstore operations during peak periods. The role focuses on supervising student and temporary staff, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring accurate merchandising and inventory control.

The position emphasizes leadership, coaching, and operational excellence, with a flexible schedule and potential remote/hybrid work arrangements.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent retail work experience.
• One-year of retail work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to supervise the work of others and willingness to work flexible schedule.
• Ability to demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Must possess excellent customer service skill.
• Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and dependable.
• Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Must exhibit strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
• Must be able to foster a positive team culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
• Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Must possess basic computer skills and ability to operate POS system.

Responsabilidades

• Supervising and directing the activities of student, temporary, and part-time employees.
• Providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and guidance to staff to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Assisting with employee onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance feedback.
• Serving as the operational lead during assigned shifts and assisting with decision‑making in the absence of management.
• Ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
• Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Supporting sales growth through effective merchandising, product placement, and customer engagement.
• Assisting in the monitoring of store expenses and operational efficiencies.
• Maintaining appropriate inventory levels through receiving, stocking, replenishment, and inventory control processes.
• Ensuring the successful execution of promotions, special events, and store initiatives.
• Assisting with opening and closing procedures, daily deposits, and safeguarding university assets.
• Supporting the achievement of store goals, objectives, and key performance indicators.
