Job summary

Galileo Learning’s Camp Director position in Chicago (Lincoln Square) is a seasonal, part‑time role leading a K–8th grade summer camp. You will open and operate the site, manage a dynamic team of educators and entry‑level staff, and ensure exceptional camper and family experiences.

You will oversee safety, program quality, and parent communications while modeling Galileo’s mission and values throughout the seasonal cycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven experience creating safe, inclusive environments for children and building trust with families.
• Experience with scheduling, staffing, and payroll.
• Willingness to travel regionally for events.

Responsibilities

• Infuse camp with joy, tradition, and creativity.
• Own camp launch and preseason planning.
• Oversee daily camp operations and parent communication.
• Ensure camper safety and program fidelity.
• Train and mentor staff, manage scheduling and payroll.
