Galileo Learning is seeking an experienced Camp Director to lead our summer camps for K–8th grade. You will be the site General Manager, the public face of the organization, and responsible for opening and operating a Galileo location in your community.

You will oversee a dynamic team of educators and entry-level staff, delivering joyful, safe environments and exceptional camper and family experiences. This role requires ownership, leadership, and a dedication to program quality and customer

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting (out-of-school time, teaching, education administration, camps/recreation).
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven ability to create safe, inclusive environments for children and build trust with families.
• Clear expectations setting, ongoing feedback, and coaching staff to improve.
• Experience managing operational details like scheduling and payroll.

Responsabilités

• Infuse camp with joy, tradition, and creativity.
• Build an inclusive environment where every camper, staff member, and family feels seen and inspired.
• Own camp launch from preseason planning through end-of-summer wrap-up; oversee daily operations and parent communication.
• Ensure camper safety, family trust, and program fidelity at all times.
• Train and mentor staff (7–40 people), provide ongoing feedback, and manage performance.
• Lead with Galileo Innovation Approach to encourage curiosity and problem-solving.
• Serve as the primary face of camp within the community and collaborate with partners.
