Job summary

Galileo Learning, LLC is seeking an experienced Camp Director to lead K–8th grade summer camps, serving as site GM and community face. You will open and operate a Camp Galileo location, lead a seasonal team of educators and staff, ensuring joyful, safe environments and high-quality programming.

Responsibilities include preseason planning, on-site operations, staff training, scheduling, payroll, and continuous improvement of camper experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven experience creating safe, inclusive environments for children and building trust with families.
• Proven experience setting clear expectations, giving ongoing feedback, and coaching staff to improve.
• Ability to manage operational details like scheduling, staffing, and payroll.
• Able to meet state requirements to work with children, including mandated trainings and First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead camp launch planning and oversee preseason through end-of-summer wrap-up.
• Oversee daily camp operations and parent communication while delivering an exceptional program.
• Train and mentor staff (7 to 40, depending on site) and cultivate team culture.
• Ensure camper safety, family trust, and program fidelity at all times.
• Communicate proactively with families, facilities partners, and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Field Program Manager and community partners to build trust.
• Travel region for up to 3 in-person marketing events during preseason.
