Job summary

Galileo Learning is seeking an experienced Camp Director to lead our summer camps for K–8 students. You will serve as site General Manager, ensure exceptional camper and family experiences, and uphold program quality with a focus on safety, inclusivity, and strong team leadership.

In this seasonal role, you will manage a dynamic team, coordinate scheduling and payroll, and partner with our Field Program Manager to deliver Galileo’s mission across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven experience creating safe, inclusive environments for children and building trust with families.
• Proven experience setting clear expectations, giving ongoing feedback, and coaching staff to improve.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational details like scheduling, staffing, and payroll.
• Ability to meet state requirements to work with children, including mandated screenings and First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead camp operations from preseason planning through end-of-summer wrap-up.
• Serve as the primary face of the camp in the community and oversee daily operations.
• Ensure camper safety, program fidelity, and high-quality experiences for families.
• Train, mentor, and manage a staff of 7 to 40 across site operations.
• Collaborate with Field Program Manager and partners to deliver Galileo’s mission.
