Oak View Group is hiring a Bartender for a seasonal role in Richmond, VA. The bartender will serve beverages, follow procedures, and maintain a clean workstation during events.

The position pays an hourly rate of $2.13 and is tip eligible. Candidates need at least six months of bartending experience, a high school diploma or GED, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and long hours.

Qualifications

• Six months or more experience bartending.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Bartending school preferred.
• Accurate cash handling skills required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations.
• Learn or know various beer, wine varieties & spirits and upsell to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check IDs to verify minimum age for alcohol.
• Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
• Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns.
• Bartenders may de-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management if needed.
• Contact a manager if unable to resolve beyond standard scope.
• Request additional products or restock as needed.
• Manage the issued bank at the bar.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and equipment.
• Set up/break down bar equipment and assist with cooler organization.
