Job summary

Merry Meritage at Meritage Resort & Spa, part of Pacific Hospitality Group, is seeking an experienced Bartender for our seasonal holiday program in Napa Valley. You will join our beverage team, delivering high-quality beverages and warm guest interactions indoors and outdoors, across bars, events, and guest areas during the November 13, 2026 to January 10, 2027 period.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, hotel, resort, event venue, or high-volume operation is required.
• Experience preparing cocktails, beer, wine, specialty beverages, and hot holiday drinks.
• Knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktail preparation, responsible alcohol service, and beverage presentation.
• Proficient in using point-of-sale systems and processing cash and credit card transactions.
• Responsible Beverage Service certification is required, or the ability to obtain one before beginning work.
• California Food Handler Card, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with guests of all ages.
• Ability to follow recipes, manage multiple orders, and maintain consistency during high-volume service periods.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, hot beverages, and holiday drinks according to recipes.
• Accurately take beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations and answer guest questions regarding beverages.
• Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency, quality, proper portioning, and presentation.
• Maintain clean, organized bars and service stations throughout the shift.
• Verify guest identification and follow all responsible alcohol service laws.
• Assist with special events and holiday activations as needed.
