Job summary

CGB Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a general laborer to work at a facility that loads and unloads barges and trucks. The role involves a wide range of duties based on daily operation needs, including cleaning and occasional barge repairs.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and a dependable work record in an industrial setting. The job requires physical capability and adherence to safety protocols, with ability to perform heavy lifting and work extended/rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience not required; preferred industrial environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre-shift meetings.
• Perform duties within OSHA, safety and environmental regulations; wear PPE as needed.
• Perform deckhand tasks (reading drafts, opening/closing lids, tying barges).
• Load barges to meet draft and quality requirements and supervise deckhand(s).
• Transfer and move grain to storage or transfer locations while maintaining quality.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation.
• General cleaning and housekeeping; perform maintenance as needed.
• Operate heavy equipment and/or assist with barge loading at the facility as required.
