Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division seeks a Seasonal Angel Tree Coordinator (Porter County) to lead the Angel Tree program. You will oversee volunteer recruitment, application processing, and coordination with partner organizations to ensure a smooth holiday distribution.

Responsibilities include managing donations, preparing items for families, and coordinating distribution with volunteers, with a focus on accuracy and timely execution.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks: must pass a background check.
• Experience: 1–2 years planning and organizing large social services events preferred.
• Certifications: valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Recruit volunteers to collect applications and assist with timelines.
• Organize and implement application dates and process timelines.
• Enter applications into the computer system and maintain applicant data.
• Create and use spreadsheets to track applicants and progress.
• Verify applications with partner organizations to avoid duplicates.
• Create Angel Tree tags for each child and manage tags at partner sites.
• Coordinate donations: accept, log, and acknowledge gifts; schedule volunteers for after-hours pickups.
• Prepare items for distribution; organize packing and inventory.
• Collaborate with Toys for Tots to secure toys for families.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers for distribution and post-distribution cleanup.
