Job summary

HMSHost is hiring a Bartender at Chicago O'Hare Airport. The role greets customers, takes orders, and prepares cocktails and mixed drinks, also serving beer and other beverages.

You will manage payments and maintain a clean, stocked bar, while following alcohol safety and cash handling procedures. The position requires at least 1 year of bartending experience, knowledge of beer, wine and spirits, and the ability to upsell.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Requires at least 1 year of bartending experience, preferably in high-volume or fast casual environments.
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and their preparation/presentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and policy documents; good customer interaction.
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
• Cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take orders, upsell when possible.
• Mix beverages following recipes and directions.
• Handle payments and operate cash registers, following cash handling policies.
• Ensure bar is clean, sanitized and well-stocked.
• Adhere to alcohol awareness procedures and manage intoxicated guests.
• Communicate shifts and issues to managers and servers as needed.
