Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking an Admissions Assistant to support the Admissions office during peak season. The role handles high-volume inquiries, updates applicant records, and assists in distributing materials while maintaining data integrity.

This temporary full-time hourly, non-benefits eligible position participates in processing thousands of applications yearly with a focus on timely communication with prospective students and counselors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years of administrative support experience.
• Experience with data entry and strong computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook). Slate CRM preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently and with Operations team on projects.

Responsibilities

• Assists Admissions with processing applications and inquiries via phone and email.
• Serves as primary contact for Admissions email and responds to inquiries Nov–Mar.
• Logs email correspondence with applicants in a timely manner.
• Updates applicant records with submitted materials (transcripts, test scores, supplements).
• Processes and distributes incoming mail.
• Supports Operations by running queries and meeting deadlines.
