Responsibilities

• Use selling skills and merchandising programs to enhance customer interaction and maximize sales.
• Greet customers politely and assist with questions and special orders.
• Prepare knife-ready products (slice, trim, wrap, weigh, price) per standards.
• Assist in receiving, inventory and storage of products.
• Stock and rotate frozen, prepared meats and seafood in the sales area.
• Maintain safety and sanitation in meat/seafood prep areas, coolers, freezers and sales floor.
• Ensure products are fresh and in date, and communicate customer requests to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

The primary purpose of the Seafood/Meat Service clerk is to provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with seafood/meat selections including cutting, cleaning and preparing items to customers specifications. A Seafood/Meat Clerk provides a high level of prompt and friendly customer service, assists customers with questions and special orders, ad needs, while maintaining a positive, customer focused work environment.

Requirements/Responsibilities

• Duties and Responsibilities:1. Use selling skills and merchandising programs to enhance customer interaction and achieve maximum sales.
• Provides polite friendly greetings and interacts with all customers as they approach the department.
• Prepares knife -ready products for sale (slice, trim, wrap, weigh and price) according to our standards.
• Assists in product receiving, inventory and storage.
• Stocks and rotates frozen items, prepared meats and fresh meat/seafood in sales area.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat/seafood and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers and sales floor.
• Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
• Communicates customers requests/concerns to management.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent preferred.
• Prior work experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
