Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector for Meat & Seafood in Franklin, IN. This on-site role ensures seafood quality and safety from receipt through storage, collaborating with warehouse, merchandising and supplier teams to uphold standards.

Responsibilities include QA documentation, sample testing, and coaching associates on proper seafood handling and safety practices. A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in QA are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of seafood safety standards and regulatory guidelines (FDA, NOAA, HACCP).
• Ability to coach and train others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming seafood to verify compliance with Kroger quality and food safety standards.
• Perform chemical and physical analyses (salt, pH, TVB-N, moisture) to assess quality and shelf life.
• Conduct species verification, sensory evaluations, and temperature checks for freshness and cold-chain compliance.
• Document results, maintain QA records, and communicate findings to QA leadership and production teams.
• Provide training to associates on seafood handling and safety protocols.
