Job summary

KROGER PHARMACY is seeking a seasoned QA leader to drive food safety and quality across manufacturing, storage and distribution of food and non-food products. You will lead sanitation, GMP compliance, and SQF programs, while coordinating audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in a related field, PCQI certification, and 5+ years in QA/lab roles, with strong analytical and leadership skills to train staff and ensure regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or related field.
• PCQI certification.
• GFIS related program certification; SQF practitioner certified preferred.
• 5+ years of food/beverage quality assurance or related lab experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, & interpret scientific/technical journals, financial reports, & legal documents.
• Ability to apply statistical process control concepts and perform root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in food safety, sanitation, product quality standards and related regulations.
• Serve as liaison for governmental inspections and maintain audit readiness.
• Maintain plant sanitation through testing and inspections and ensure GMPs are followed.
• Oversee HACCP, preventive controls, allergen programs and finished product specs.
• Train and resource Quality Assurance staff and supervise direct reports.
• Ensure annual training of SQF, GMPs, FSMA and related programs.
• Coordinate records and procedures for preventive controls, lab, sanitation and verification.
• Investigate consumer comments and support action plans.
• Provide production with continuous improvement support and drive risk assessment decisions.
