Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Mechanicsville, Alabama is seeking an experienced Meat/Seafood Department Manager to lead daily operations, ensure safe handling, train staff, and implement a department business plan. You will supervise all department activities and uphold our Customer 1st standard to drive exceptional service.

Strong communication and knife handling skills, plus food safety knowledge, are required. Seafood experience and retail leadership are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the Meat/Seafood department.
• Support day-to-day functions of Meat/Seafood operations.
• Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and temperature logs.
