Job summary

Astranis is offering a Hardware Design Intern position with the Software Defined Radio team for Summer 2027. Interns, typically enrolled at a four-year university, work on challenging hardware/software problems that influence real satellite systems.

Role includes designing and testing SDR hardware, bring-up in the lab, and collaborating with engineers. This is an on-site internship in Northern California with a strong emphasis on hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on PCB design and testing experience.
• Strong fundamentals in analog/digital/mixed-signal design.
• Ability to design, build, and test PCBA hardware from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, implement, and test SDR hardware.
• Bring up and debug hardware in the lab with top-of-the-line instruments.
• Write code to help evaluate performance and automate testing of satellite hardware.
• Integrate these systems into the spacecraft by working closely with the team.
