Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Claims Manager – SDI to lead a high-exposure SDI claims team across multiple U.S. locations, including Hartford, CT. The role partners with leadership to drive strategy, improve processes, and deliver exceptional client service in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include supervising claims handling, analytics, and collaboration with Underwriting and Risk Engineering, while fostering a culture of performance and cost-effective subrogation opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SDI claims processes including coverage evaluation, reserving, proof of loss reviews, and resolution of SDI claims.
• Manage audits and ensure Financial Internal Controls (FIC) compliance across the claims team.
• Develop and deliver claim analytics and data insights to Underwriting, Actuarial, and Risk Engineering.
• Collaborate with Underwriting and Risk Engineering on claim issues and trends; provide data-driven insights to underwriting decisions.
• Provide superior customer service to policyholders and brokers.
• Pursue subrogation opportunities in a cost‑efficient manner.
• Identify strategic needs solvable via technology, process improvements, or training; monitor vendor management and expenses.
• Lead and develop the claims team through coaching and performance feedback.
