Job summary

Kobie is a remote-first leader in loyalty technology, seeking a Software Quality Engineer to enable a robust quality program and advance automated testing across teams. You will shift left on quality, automate tests, and improve key quality metrics while guiding engineers on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years experience as a software developer, Software Developer in Test, or a similar role.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent, or analogous work experience.
• Fluency in software testing methodologies: white box, black box, unit, integration, functional, performance, etc.
• Bias toward automation over manual testing. Proven track record automating complex software testing in real-world enterprise environments.
• Expertise in proven testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, and curiosity to explore state of the art.
• Production software coding experience is a must.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, Karate).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner), a plus.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI), a plus.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, a plus.
• ISTQB or other relevant certifications, a plus.
• Experience with compliance (SOC, HITRUST, etc.) a plus.

• Enable teams by providing environment and knowledge to run a robust quality program.
• Perform tests where appropriate to advance software quality.
• Shift left by automating tests and improving quality metrics.
• Guide the software engineering team on continuous improvement.
• Enable engineers to test their own code through tooling, piloting, and education.
• Deliver continual, meaningful software quality progress and build confidence with stakeholders.
