Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for Bespoke Solutions in Arlington, VA. You will design, build, and operate a mission-critical, multi-tenant platform for embedded devices, working at the intersection of distributed systems, security engineering, and fleet operations.

This role requires current US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, with onboarding in Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
3+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience.
2+ years of experience with C, C++, or Rust.
Strong background in security-hardened system design including PKI, mutual TLS, and cryptographic signing.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain cryptographic trust infrastructure with multiple certificate authorities.
Implement multi-tenant data isolation using ABAC and row-level security.
Develop cryptographic integrity mechanisms for configuration and audit data.
Engineer emergency access workflows with time-bound credentials and audit trails.
Ensure cryptographic operations use FIPS 140‑2 Level 3 KMS and strict key isolation.
Design reconciliation protocols where edge devices remain source of truth and backend maintains projections.
