Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for AWS Managed Operations in Arlington, VA. You will build and operate platform services that enable operators to define scope, automate permissions, and measure health across Regions.

You will deliver features end to end, from design to deployment, and develop AI capabilities that automate routine responses at scale while partnering with operators and service teams to reduce manual effort.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered software applications.
• Strong programming skills in at least one major language (C#, C++, Java, or Perl).

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the platform services that let operations teams define scope, automate permissions, measure health across Regions.
• Deliver features end to end from design and code through deployment and live-site operation.
• Develop AI and agentic capabilities that automate routine operational response for greater scale.
• Partner with operators and service teams to turn data into tooling that reduces manual effort.
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and perform thoughtful code reviews.
