Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Northern Virginia (Herndon) seeks a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate a multi-tenant platform for large-scale embedded devices in secure enterprise networks.

You will work across distributed systems, security engineering, and fleet operations to meet reliability and compliance standards. You will contribute to cryptographic trust, ABAC-based data isolation, and edge-backend synchronization, with emphasis on PKI, TLS and secure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 2+ years in C, C++, or Rust.
• Strong background in security-hardened system design, PKI and mutual TLS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and RBAC/data security.

Responsibilities

• Build cryptographic trust infrastructure with multiple CA hierarchies.
• Implement multi-tenant data isolation and ABAC with scalable security.
• Develop cryptographic integrity mechanisms and tamper-evident logging.
• Engineer break-glass workflows with time-bounded credentials and audits.
• Ensure cryptographic operations use FIPS 140-2 Level 3 KMS.
• Design reconciliation protocols with edge devices as source of truth.
