Job summary

AWS Core Networking's Network Fabric Engineering team seeks a Software Development Engineer to build scalable services that run the Amazon networks across global datacenters.

You will deliver high‑quality software, contribute to design, and mentor junior engineers while navigating a fast, collaborative environment. This role emphasizes reliability, performance, and cross‑team influence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience
• Experience programming in at least one software language
• 2+ years working with networking fundamentals or Internet protocols
• Experience in a Linux/Unix environment
• 2+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS)

Responsibilities

• Develop and launch production-grade software services for AWS networking.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.
• Troubleshoot network issues and optimize performance.
• Manage 24x7 on-call rotation and travel to sites as needed.
