Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Network Development Engineer to join the AWS Core Networking Network Fabric Engineering team.

You will build, deploy, and scale networks across global data centers, delivering high reliability while balancing efficiency and cost for AWS customers. You will work with Linux/Unix, TCP/IP, and routing protocols, leading projects from design through deployment, with on-call responsibilities and cross-team collaboration to ensure scalable, secure network

Qualifications

• 4+ years of internet routing protocols experience.
• 4+ years of Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 1+ years automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement changes on the network.
• Work with automation teams to scale tools.
• Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, refresh, best practices, and optimization.
• Sustain AWS networks for major customers by diagnosing, mitigating impact, and resolving large-scale events.
• Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations; including Unix interactions and networking tools.
• Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border.
• Collaborate with Network/Infrastructure to align configurations and standards.
• Ensure fast roll-out of new designs and products with deployment and sustaining of tools.
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and comply with policies.
• Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
• Collaborate with escalation engineers/resolvers.
• Create and review documentation and processes for deployments and issues.
