Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the US ADC Security Engineering team in Herndon, VA. You will own the development, operations, and health of critical services in a classified environment, focusing on security, scalability, and reliability.

Qualifications include 3+ years of software development, a Bachelor’s degree (CSSLP preferred), US citizenship, and an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Experience with design/architecture for reliability and scaling
Active Top Secret security clearance and US citizenship
Experience with automation or monitoring frameworks is preferred

Responsibilities

Design and develop high-availability distributed software with security, scalability, and fault tolerance
Build and integrate custom APIs and middleware for security system integration
Develop automation frameworks for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployment and configuration management
Build monitoring and alerting systems to track the health and security of our services
Implement secure communication and authentication between distributed systems
Contribute to technical design reviews and security architecture discussions
Write high-quality, maintainable code and perform peer code reviews
Partner with internal customers to understand operational challenges and deliver solutions
