Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Systems Engineer - Level 2 or 3 to join our SDA program team on-site. You will help define, develop, integrate, and verify system requirements and architectures for space-focused missions.

Candidates should have a STEM degree with 2+ years (Level 2) or 5+ years (Level 3), experience with MBSE (CAMEO/SysML/UML), Python, and AWS, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Excellent communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2+ years in systems engineering for aerospace/space programs or Master’s in STEM.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience managing requirements, system architecture, and CONOPs development.
• MBSE tools: CAMEO, SysML, UML; Python experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, integration, and verification of system requirements for SDA programs.
• Perform systems engineering across the lifecycle: requirements analysis, architecture, interface definition, verification.
• Coordinate with software, hardware, integration/test, cyber, mission ops, and partners for end-to-end performance.
• Develop and maintain artifacts: requirements specs, ICDs, ConOps, verification matrices, technical presentations.
• Support trade studies, analyses, and risk assessments to meet mission objectives.
• Address complex technical concepts and integration challenges with problem-solving.
• Prepare charts, present data, and provide recommendations to internal teams and customers.
• Support system integration, test planning, anomaly resolution, and verification/validation.
