Job summary

Serco Inc. in Washington, DC, is seeking a results-driven System Engineer to support the Navy's Columbia-class program with SCS/HMCCS integration and FBW requirements.

This role requires a TS/Secret clearance eligibility, a technical degree, at least 5 years in engineering, and strong communication, leadership and multitasking skills.

You will report to SIT leads, guide system design, manage risk, coordinate with NAVSEA/UK MoD, and help build a capable engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Report to the SCS SIT Lead and the Forward Project Officer.
• Support the design and integration of SCS and HMCCS per Ship Building Specifications with Fly-By-Wire requirements for Columbia and Dreadnought classes.
• Lead the full System Engineering process for Columbia SCS Whole Boat and HMCCS tasks including requirements, design, testing and verification.
• Lead SIT meetings as needed.
• Facilitate timely decisions with NAVSEA, SSP, UK MoD and Naval Warfare Centers to meet deadlines.
• Manage integration, testing, and delivery milestones across Columbia and Dreadnought programs.
• Identify and mitigate risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with other SITs to resolve interfaces.
• Support leadership to resolve emergent issues in SCS and HMCCS areas.
• Develop engineering staff and budgets via Task Planning Sheets.
