Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks an HM&E Systems Engineer to support U.S. Navy surface ships. You will provide technical and advisory actions across lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and modernization efforts, coordinating with Navy stakeholders and Serco SMEs. Your work strengthens fleet readiness and sailor safety.

The role requires extensive coordination with Navy entities, Type Commands, and contractor teams, plus travel up to 10%. Proficiency with eARRTS, NAVSEA tools, and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years naval shipboard experience or a high school diploma with 4 years naval shipboard work.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship configuration and related processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Navy-related systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare machinery and propulsion system directives and review related drawings.
• Provide HM&E engineering support and safety analyses for Navy surface ships.
• Analyze failures and maintenance actions to suggest corrective actions.
• Develop lifecycle sustainment, modernization, and configuration studies.
• Create technical docs, installation drawings, and procedures.
• Draft advisory messages and coordinate with Navy and contractors.
