Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an experienced Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) Systems Engineer to support U.S. Navy surface ships. You will provide technical analysis, lifecycle management oversight, and advisory actions across NAVSEA and TYCOM interfaces to enhance fleet readiness and sailor safety.

The role requires DoW Secret clearance, a relevant degree or equivalent naval experience, and proficiency with Navy systems and MS Office. Some travel is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years Naval shipboard experience or HS diploma with 10 years related work experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy electrical configuration principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Analyze equipment failures, casualty reports, and maintenance actions, and develop recommendations.
• Provide engineering and analytical support for HM&E systems on surface ships.
• Perform lifecycle assessments including sustainment, modernization, and maintenance.
• Review technical docs, installation drawings, and procedures.
• Draft and support Naval Advisory Messages for fleet issues and safety concerns.
• Utilize Navy comms systems to prepare advisory communications.
• Maintain records in eARRTS and related Navy systems.
• Develop briefs and readiness dashboards using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Extract and analyze operational data from Navy sources for decision making.
