Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc is seeking a Scrub Technician to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and establish a sterile field during procedures. The role involves assisting the physician, maintaining sterility, and coordinating with the circulating nurse in the operating room.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Scrub Technician program, and BLS certification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Program.
• One to two years experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Surgical Technologist State License and National Certification are required to practice.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively assists physician with operative procedures.
• Anticipates surgeon/physician’s needs both in preparing for procedures and during procedure.
• Ensures sterility of all supplies and instruments during set up of surgical procedures.
• Gowns and gloves surgeons and assistants.
• Assists in keeping physician preference cards accurate/updated.
• Transports all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas and reprocessing of instrument sets.
