Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience as an Endoscopy Scrub Tech.
• Able to apply common sense to detailed instructions and work in a surgical setting.
• Familiar with medical terminology related to anatomy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates needs of the endoscopy team and maintains sterile field.
• Ensures sterility of supplies and instruments during setup.
• Assists in maintaining sterile environment and gathering supplies.
• Performs sponge/needle/instrument counts pre- and intra-operatively.
• Gowns and gloves surgeons and assistants as needed.
• Transfers specimens to pathology and confirms source with surgeon.
• Maintains safety and privacy per policy; follows HIPAA guidelines.
• Participates in environmental/infection control and safety drills.
